The MRCE Dispolok ER 20 is a diesel-electric locomotive for freight traffic as well as passenger duties. Die ER 20 ("Hercules") is representative of the EuroRunner family and, at the present time, holds a permit for use within Germany and Austria. The most modern diesel engine technology and the new style of noise dampening make the ER 20 one of the most powerful diesel locos in Europe, yet having the least polluting exhaust gases.
The firm Stern & Hafferl traffic ltd is an Austrian railway company based in Gmunden. It operates includes five electric interurban railways and the tramway in Gmunden. The company is both in passenger and freight activities . Among the ten private railway operators is Austria's leading Hafferl Stern & Company . End of 2007, ordered its first diesel- Stern & Hafferl line locomotive in 2016 , including maintenance at Siemens. Responsible for the modern design features of Gmunden designer and photographer Josef Reiter. The locomotive has a different printing on both sides.
