This cab provides all of the capability and ease of use that you’ve heard about in our Power Pro system, at an entry level price. Installation is a snap. Hook two wires to your track and plug in the cab. You’re off and running trains! The Power Cab kit contains: Power Cab, 7' Power Cab Cable, PCP Power Panel, Power Supply, Pro Cab Coiled Cord, and Manual.

This is a great entry level DCC System. All you need to get going in one box!! This has a UK Transformer so no adapter needed.

Provides short circuit protection for one power district. Can be used with most DCC systems. This is not recommended for use with the Power Cab.

NCE Block detector

The BD-20 block detector module is normally used to indicate the presence of a locomotive, Coaches or other rolling stock in a track section by connecting to AIU01 and sensing electrical current drawn by that rolling stock.

Locomotives will naturally trigger the detector because they draw current through their DCC decoder. (Unpowered rolling stock will not trigger the detector unless equipped with some means of drawing current from the rails such as lights or resistor wheel sets.)

Unlike other detection units the BD-20 requires no direct electrical connection to the track. This block detector can be used with any sized DCC power booster of up to 12 Amps capacity. The track feeder wire for one rail of the block is just passed through the hole in the current transformer on the module (see manual) before connecting the feeder to the track. The more times the wire goes through the hole in the current transformer the more sensitive the detector becomes. (See the section on Detector Sensitivity for some limits on this matter.)

NCE AUI-01 DCC Auxiliary Input Unit.

The Auxiliary Input Unit (AIU) provides a means connecting external devices such as switch contacts, Block Detectors, or other sensors to the Command Station.

These external devices can be anything that supplies an electrical connection between the input pins (1-14) and the pins marked “GND” in Figure 1. These connections can then be read by a computer through the RS-232 port of the command station using the RS-232 commands on page 4 of the manual.

The 14 LEDs provide indication of which input is active. An LED will light when its corresponding input terminal is connected to ground. This provides an easy means to test whether the block detector or other device you have connected to the terminal is working.

The AIU is a Cab Bus device (thus it must be plugged in to the cab bus using the cab bus connectors) and must be used with another Cab Bus device (Power Pro, Power Cab, USB interface etc.)

NCE Program track auto switching device

When the NCE Power Cab is operated in "USE PROGRAM TRK" mode, the entire mainline becomes the programming track. This is undesirable if other locos are in the layout, as they could all be re-programmed!

With the Auto Switch installed between the track output of the Power Cab, and the track, a separate programming track output is available, and the AUTO SWITCH operates like a DPDT switch to isolate the main track, and power the programming track, automatically!

The Auto switch will also work with other DCC systems such as Digitrax.

TheCab04 uses a more conventional knob for speed control and is available with either a potentiometer (Cab04p) or digital encoder (Cab04e). Both varieties of the Cab04 can be set to YARD mode. Yard mode makes the speed knob act as a "center off" speed control. Turn the knob to the right and the loco will increase speed in the forward direction. Turn it to the left and speed will decrease until it gets to zero then it will start to increase speed in the reverse direction the farther you turn it to the left.

Add a separate PCP panel to operate your Power Cab in other places or on other layouts. Use the P114 below and you will only have to move the Power Cab.
