Bemo 1289 103 RhB Gmf 4/4 243 diesel locomotive
Railway service diesel locomotive Gmf 4/4 243 In
1991, Kaelble-Gmeinder in Mosbach supplied the two bogie locomotive Gmf 4/4 242-243 with hydrodynamic drive for use as a construction locomotive for the Vereina tunnel. The 12-cylinder Caterpillar engines have an hourly output of 805 hp on the motor shaft. The maximum speed of the radio-controlled machines is 60 km / h. Today, the machines are still needed in railway service.
Between autumn 2011 and 2012, RhB transported around 40,000 t of booms as part of flood protection measures from Poschiavo to Klosters, thereby saving some 4,000 lorry journeys across the Graubünden Pass roads. In six ACTS troughs 85 t of stones were drilled daily at the beginning; later the capacity was doubled and two trips were made. The Verschub took over the modern Gmf 4/4 242-243 as it did years ago with the Vereina excavated transport.
