Features of the M-DEC

For digital control of:

  • Up to four motor driven turnouts.
  • Each output can be loaded with a nominal current of up to 1 Ampere.

As the moving time of a motor drive is only some single seconds each output will be switched voltage-free after a periode of 10 seconds. This will protect the system if the drive limit switch is defect.

Simple and secure connection of the power supply to the turnout-motors by screw clips. There is no additional circuitry or wiring neccessary as required for instance by a switch decoder with bistable relaysThe wires from the motors have to be connected directly to the decoder.

Please attend to the connection plan below about how easy motor drives can be connected. You can download detailled sample connections for several motor-drives!

The decoder receives the motor current either from the digital circuitry or through a separate input directly from the alternated current (AC) output (12 to 18 Volt ~) of a model railway transformer. Valuable digital current can be saved !

M-DEC is a 4-fold decoder with self learning decoder address:

  • The decoder address can just be set by pushing the M-DEC programming key and then the key of the turnout switchboard, or by a switch command through a PC with connected INTERFACE.
  • The decoder address will be permanently stored, but can always be changed by pressing the programming key again. It’s as simple as that!

Available as ready to use finished modulefinished module in a case or as kit on a 89 x 67mm pc-board with 4 bores for mounting purposes. (Suitable installation material can be found under accessories).

The decoder from our Digital-Professional-Series can be operated without any difficulty from your digital controlled model railway. The decoder is 100% compatible to the Märklin-Motorola data format and the DCC standard.

The finished module comes with 24 month warranty.

Each M-DEC decoder will be supplied with a detailed operating-/respectively assembly instruction. Those instructions can be found within the next section.

The M-DEC is available as a kit (-B) and as checked finished module (-F) or as checked finished module in a case (-G).
