Electric locomotive type 140 was produced at Škoda Plzeň factory as the first electric loco (called Bobina - from BoBo truck type).

100 were produced from 1953-58. The loco was designed mainly for train transport, due to max speed of 120kph.

In 90th year most were reallocated between ČD - Czech railway and ZSR Slovakia corp.
