Example
Building on the Ge 4/4 I, the RhB purchased two additional locomotives in 1958, but these were designed with a two-part, horizontally movable locomotive body and three two-axle motor bogies. The 2400 hp Ge 6/6 II 701-702 originally had three front windows and some windows in the side walls, which were later replaced by fan grilles. In 1965, five more double locomotives with only two front windows followed, the Ge 6/6 II 703-707. With the entry into service of the Ge 4/4 III, the Ge 6/6 II 701-707 found a new field of activity in freight transport.
Like the Ge 4/4 I, the Ge 6/6 II were also equipped with single-arm pantographs. The locomotives with odd company numbers were given square headlamps. As a result of the growing supply of “Capricorn” multiple units, the locomotives were no longer needed and were finally shut down a few years ago.
